That may provide temporary relief, but the only way the US can come back from what he has done is for him to see the inside of a jail cell. That seems to be a remote possibility despite his conviction. Him simply dying will only be a temporary reprieve. Ultimately everybody dies. That’s not justice.
Perhaps if it were an excruciatingly painful one.
