I’ve never seen something as unhinged as Project 2025. I mean it, it sounds like a shitty “evil plan” cooked on 4chan, but it’s fucking real. Insane.

Yeah, but a lot of conservatives, and by extension fascists, are extremely hypocritical on the surface, except they like to use “hypocrisy” as a tool against their opponents, and by “hypocrisy”, I mean not following the strawman version of your ideology. I personally call this as “rulebending”, they’re manipulating their opponents rules to be even higher and thus choking them with it.

On a deeper level they just want a lot of power, which includes them being above the law, as long as they’re loyal to the dictator/king. If project 2025 succeeds, expect one of them getting caught on live with real CP, maybe even raping a child, then will just go “so what? I can do this, you are not allowed to!”.

    Project 2025 wants to:

    • Outlaw pornography
    • Outlaw abortion
    • Outlaw homosexuality
    • Eliminate all major checks on presidential power. Say goodbye to the system of checks and balances
    • Replace many federal workers with those who are loyal only to the president

www.defeatproject2025.org breaks it down by topic, also highly suggest John Oliver’s segment on it

Replace many federal workers with those who are loyal only to the president

This is the key point that actually makes all this possible. From the wiki

It proposes reclassifying tens of thousands of merit-based federal civil service workers as political appointees in order to replace them with loyal conservatives to further the objectives of the next Republican president.

“Tens of thousands”. There is absolutely not enough young republicans in the nation to replace that many federal workers. The outcome if they fired them anyways would be orders of magnitude worse than the De-Ba’athification of Iraq. Its declaring class war on Northern Virginia and its a fight the GOP would lose.

I’m from there too. I could feel myself slowly becoming that type of libertarian shit head growing up until I moved away. Libertarianism is the only way you can rationalize all the bullshit you see around you and still remain in that environment.

It takes a severe level of willful ignorance to work for the MIC. They’re so close to the contradictions at play that whenever you try to interrogate them on those contradictions they just short circuit in a way. Often they’ll repeat some sort of aphorism.

No because every conservative either doesn’t know about it or pretends it isn’t as bad as it is, which they rationalize by making sure not to look at it too closely.

Literally just yesterday I posted about it in my family’s political group chat and my older sister said, and I quote:

“even though I lean left, I’m actually glad that conservatives have a playbook! Why? because Trump’s first term presidential transition (2017) was totally bungled… he needs a list of people that he can appoint from, so that these agencies don’t just fall apart… Don’t kid yourself, Biden’s team and Obama’s team and the democrats overall definitely have their own playbook and their list of potential appointees. They just don’t have to crowdsource theirs!”

would it be better to have two trump terms, back to back, or to make a biden sandwich and have a break between the terms?

i worry that if trump comes back from the dead he might do crazier shit than if he was just re-elected and kept eating mcdonalds at the white house.

no way to know for sure, unless whoever built the universe made two copies just to test this out

The US ruling class has been trying to do all of these things for decades. I’ve been treated like I’m insane for calling this out since well before Project 2025 was formulated. It’s honestly frustrating to see the amount of people finally coming around now that all their ducks are in a row and a second Trump term is looking more and more certain every day. Biden’s been literally doing Republican policies for his entire presidency and we haven’t heard a fucking peep from the liberal “activists” in my area about it.

Definitely using some “weasel words” in their policy to get away with some shady shit.

Any law that you see that you think “Wow, no way they can enforce that! That would get EVERYBODY in trouble” is a law that is intended to be selectively enforced against unwanted people

You, just a few comments ago:

“that is not how I interpret it or how they intended it”

If you’re so sure of their intent then where is your evidence?

You’re doing the exact same thing you accused the other commenter of; you literally just claimed something without any evidence.

If something is against “national interest” and your president is trying to become an autocrat, that means they can essentially pick and choose what national interest is. This should be setting off alarm bells in EVERYONE’S head as an obvious grab for power.

I’m not american, so I don’t have direct skin in the game, but everyone on both sides of the political spectrum who don’t self identify as fascist should be against this.

If you don’t interpret this as something extremely dangerous, you need to have a sit down and really think about the implications.

So the issue is that this is not what they are referring to. What they are talking about is when the FBI (and CIA) get involved in politics or directly sway things in direction that is outside of what the FBI is for.

In Hungary, state institutions like the police of the tax bureau only target people and companies outside of Fidesz’es interest group. That’s what they want to adapt, so every company will fall in line with Project 2025.
