  • It’s willful blindness, because rather than be a society, many to most still cling to the fantasy that one day it could be their turn to be the fuckers living like modern Pharoahs in cartoonish excess, even from the trailer park.

We are way down the list for upward mobility in the developed world, btw. We’re in the high 20s and the nordic nations dominate the top 5. Despite all the laughable bootstrap talk of meritocracy being our thing.

The sad fact is, more Americans would rather keep up with and fantasize about being a Kardashian than condemn their ridiculous life of needless excess while others struggle for food and shelter.

That’s what the American Dream has devolved into since Reagan, a fantasy of participating in owner class excess that should instead enrage us.

  • Our FOR PRIVATE PROFIT news media would much rather ingratiate themselves to the Fuhrer than be the fourth estate and report on him earnestly.

Antagonizing a future President openly feening to attack any organization that says an unkind word sounds like a recipe for lost revenue, and they can’t risk lost shareholder value over something as trivial as representative democracy.

Any way you slice it, Donald Trump is the product and symptom of our society’s tolerance and servitude to our greed class. Remember the theme of Donald’s game show? We chose to die alone fighting against one another over scraps rather than living together as a society back in the 80s with the Reagan Revolution and the legislation of greed as our only cultural value.

This is just the bill coming due. Somewhere, the ghosts of all the struggling neighbors we cut the net out from under, and vilified as “welfare queens and filthy takers,” to cut taxes for people like Fred and Donald Trump back then are laughing.

  • 😂😭😂

Still think a society run on worshipped greed and competition against one another can stand?

When you make the private profit motive the only motive, as we have in the US in practice, what in the ever loving fuck do you think your elected leaders and their appointments will be motivated by? Duty and integrity?

Sociopath asset holders being allowed to indulge their greed disease with impunity and dictating how our society runs while contributing nothing of merit needs to end. Until then, we’ll keep finding new lows to stoop to until climate change makes our gold plated, inhuman cesspool collapse completely.

  • Exactly.

As just one example, had we been railing against the Federalist Society for what it always was since it was established around the Reagan Revolution, a judicial extremist group and ideological servant to wealthy business interests for decades designed to bend our judicial branch to their profit driven desires, it would have gotten increasingly difficult to get them appointed to the SCOTUS, and even lesser appointments under such public pressure, back when public pressure was still heeded to some degree.

Instead, that was considered to be engaging in unseemly class war, harumph I say! They’re simply a society made up of wealthy legacy slot kids that happens to have a judicial philosophy of make the rich richer and less accountable, and make the poor poorer and more desperate. Now, having decades waging class war basically unopposed, Wall Street now owns our Judicial branch in practice, to play with like any random mega yacht. It is their asset, we can only suffer it.

  • Whenever the peasants get even the tiniest bit of leverage, the owners predictably, cynically, and immediately bust out the “there is no class war! It would be unseemly to engage in a class war! Don’t start a class war!” lies through their propaganda pulpits.

Sadly, it works, despite the fact that the market capitalists never stop warring against those with less to get ever moooaaaar to feed their insatiable greed disease. Reagan/Thatcher actually convinced millions of poor, deluded idiots that deregulation and tax breaks for the rich would help them, some of whom still belligerently defend supply side market capitalism against their own interests before carrying their brittle, old, exploited bones outside every day expecting golden showers of prosperity to start raining down on them as the owners promised… any decade now… And holy shit why is it so hot out here?

The market capitalist owner class has been warring against you and any nation states that still prioritizes the wellbeing of their people for longer than anyone has been alive, whether you would fight back or say “thank you lord may I have another!”

  • I’m sorry, but again, jim crow.

Our most revered eras of prosperity, except the 90s, were so prosperous on the backs of a massive, racially determined underclass supporting it and not benefitting from it with no other options. They never even had well funded schools worth the defunding that’s happened to the rest since then.

And once a lot of people died getting rid of that, the owners decided fuck all the peasants, leading into today’s more widespread economic despair.

Also rock and roll was derived from African American music of the times, and was just another thing white Americans stole from their racial underclass to benefit themselves.

  • Whenever I dare to hope about the lofty, admirable star trek future, I remember that space is completely unforgiving and we just aren’t up to the task for anything more than a token selfie by the best dozen humans we can possibly produce with great effort and training.

As a species, we aren’t going to spread out there. Still too primitive, and probably too self-destructive to make it out of this phase of evolution. This might be one of those great filters scientists postulate as to why there aren’t signals from innumerable civilizations out there.

We aren’t even capable of caring for one another, let alone the EASIEST to maintain, most naturally human friendly habitat we would ever encounter in the cosmos as we evolved to fit it. No airlocks, the air/water/waste recycling was already fully automated, all we had to do was not recklessly grow/metastasize to the point we strain the absolutely massive system out of greed and glut, and stop carelessly shitting where we sleep. We all know how that’s been going since we figured out how to make dead animal poison rocket us accross town.

Master space? Master planetary defense? We can’t even defend this world from our own habitual consumerism. We’ll be lucky if we aren’t scattered tribes living near the old hardened structures of the before times for emergency shelter from the new normal weather events in a hundred years. We’re already starting to argue over the resources it’s taking to rebuild population centers from the current new normal. We have played pretend we were since human civilization began, but we are NOT and never have been this world’s owners or masters, and we are still very much its subject.

And Reminder, what we’re doing and have been doing in decades won’t be undone for millions of years. The Earth is a self-correcting system, and the damage we’re doing is inconsequential to its 3.8 billion year old, beautiful story of life growing out of every crevice, just not on a timescale humans can benefit from or even truly appreciate.

  • Unlike a lot of sectors though, Airbus knows what they’re doing and is a high profile alternative, and unlike the US, hasn’t yet completely internalized our sociopathic greed disease to our degree, despite the global economic pressure we inflict on other nations encouraging them to betray and cause harm to their own societies and citizens if it means an extra nickel of short term private profit.

Don’t worry though, the UK has fallen to the greed disease, and our capitalists are bribing and coercing their way eastward, and they won’t stop until they either are physically stopped by something like climate change, or successfully make the world forget that Economies are lowly tools that are supposed to exist solely to benefit the people of the society they are a lowly tool for.

  • Remember, small impressionable children, oligarchy and rigged market capitalism is the only way, everything else is evil and anti-freedom, and remember to compete against your fellow Americans to try to get more than them!

For our next lesson, critical thinking and reasoning! Just kidding, we don’t do that here. It doesn’t help to make you better laborers.
