I don’t think it’s really fair to blame Obama now, it’s a clusterfuck and why would he want to get back in the middle of things. Also if we are to blame Obama for anything, it should be for him discouraging Biden not to run in 2016 over Hillary. Even if Biden lost like Hillary did back then, he likely wouldn’t run again in 2020, leaving an opening for younger Democrats to enter the presidential scene, avoiding the whole situation we’re in now.

The other issue is that even if Biden does drop out, what nominee would be able to survive the three wammies?

I had to manage a Slack migration to another org we were merging with. As the owner, normally I couldn’t even see the names of private channels, but when it came down to the migration, upgrading the account to Business+ tier, the full export included everything (private channels and DMs), which we imported into the new org.

Slack sends notifications to all Admins that the export was happening, and i’ve only seen that notification once after using Slack for 10 years.

I don’t think Slack has a self hosted version, and does not offer IP allow listing. There’s nothing preventing someone to go to https://disney.slack.com/. I think when they say “internal” they mean for internal employees, and not like a thing for fans.

I have to imagine that whomever is promoting a third party candidate either doesn’t understand how US general elections work, or is actually trying to siphon votes from Biden to benefit Trump. It’s tantamount to convincing someone not to vote at all.

Because of the first past the post voting, you need to vote against the candidate you definitely don’t want. Any vote not for the Democrat is effectively a vote for Trump.

This isn’t like voting for Kang or Kodos, Trump is a horrible person, was and would be a terrible president, and needs to be put in jail. Giving him the presidential office protects him from accountability which is probably the only reason he’s running other than his ego.

Are there raw results published anywhere? The most recent IPSOS I can find is from May 2024 and based on this, it seems Biden and Trump are unchanged at 40% each between surveys.

A person of power cannot commit a crime and claim it was in official capacity, because the act itself is against the law and cannot be committed without consequence.

This whole ruling is because of a person in power (Trump) who committed a crime (fake electors plot to overturn the 2020 election) and is claiming it as an official capacity of the office. That’s the whole point of the case which was appealed to the Supreme Court.

So what consequence will Trump face for his crimes now based on this ruling?

Usually NYT sets a cookie to track how many free articles you read and once you exceed that, you get the paywall. The bots probably don’t set/send the cookies, so NYT doesn’t block them. Also, I’d imagine the bots are coming from various different IPs so even server side blocking based on IP wouldn’t block everything and eventually the bot would get to the article. User Agents can also be spoofed.

The sad truth is with the two party system, you don’t vote for who you think is better, you vote against who you think is worse. A vote for Biden rejects Trump getting a second term.
