Going for a walk fixes just about anything.
My back is tight - go for a walk. I’m bored - go for a walk. My dog needs attention - go for a walk. I feel fat - go for a walk. I’m overwhelmed - go for a walk. Can’t poop - go for a walk. Need to sort my thoughts out - go for a walk. Wanna “smoke some fools” - go for a walk.
Even if the problem itself isn’t resolved in that half an hour, you’ve at minimum created some space to re-approach it.
It’s incredible how your mind opens up with a little fresh air and sunshine. Birds chirping and all that. It’s lovely, FREE, and always accessible as long as you have functioning legs and aren’t in prison.
Aren’t you thankful to have legs that work? And to not be locked up??
We’ve all narrowly escaped injury. We’ve all done something illegal. You’re not a saint. You’re certainly not always smart.
That walk simultaneously keeps that flesh machine of yours fully operational, while also quelling the “homicidal tendencies” that might lead to physical restrictions of freedom - both required to go for a walk. Look at you, killing all dem birds with one measly stone.
It’s a cycle that benefits itself, as cycles tend to do… whether their consequences lead to destruction or divinity.
What a gift it is to go outside for a walk. Will you join me? Maybe just for today?
