We’ve all heard the oxygen mask analogy for life/crisis: Affix your own mask before you help others - because if you become incapacitated, you’re both dead.

Makes sense.

Life is also a lot like driving. When an ambulance is approaching, you pull over. If you can’t do that, you stay still. Someone with an important job needs you out of their way.

You don’t make sudden moves. You don’t speed up to clear traffic. You don’t ignore them. You briefly put your destination/goal aside, and give them your full attention so they can potentially save a life.

How often in life do we go ahead of God, thinking we know better?

We think we always need to be “doing something.” How about we don’t? 🤷‍♀️

How about we understand that there is so much at play, that sometimes our only job is to simply “pull over” and let The Big Guy work. “Be still and see the salvation of the Lord.”

If you’re so busy making your own moves, how can you see what He’s doing for you? How can He get His glory if you think you did it for yourself?

Pride is a wild thing.

All that to say, it’s worth noting that we are not the only drivers on the road of life. Everyone has a destination that is as important to them, as yours is to you.
