I do generally think it’s more of a case where American workers are often reactionary due to America’s overall circumstances and Material Conditions in the broader geopolitical landscape, than anything else. Nationalism is a big thing in America, Union or not.

Imperialism also inflates Worker’s living standards, as well as keeping a domestic underclass of immigrants willing to work for the barest wages via threat of expulsion. Unions can often be anti-immigration because of this, additionally adding to reactionary rhetoric among unions.

I know the DNC isn’t exactly a pro-union party, but the GOP is an outright anti-union party. I am curious why the Teamsters went with this move, perhaps they want increased protectionism to fight outsourcing of jobs? But the Teamsters are largely truckers, ie you cannot outsource these jobs.

Because the only parties in power are the ones that can maintain the good favor of the people with massive amounts of money to donate, and therefore the only candidates presented are the ones that serve wealthy Capitalists. Voting third party is intentionally designed to be extremely difficult to avoid changing this.

That’s not the reason, the reason is because the US electoral system is dominated by the interests of those who pour the most money into it, not the will of the people. Voting harder won’t fix it, the only thing that will is building up parallel structures and pressuring from outside, like what has happened for nearly every major improvement America has seen.

Center-left? DNC? On what planet? The DNC is a right-wing liberal party, it’s no flavor of Socialist, or even Social Democrat. Perhaps when the largest alternative is the GOP, filled with fascists and far-right populists, but that doesn’t change the views of the DNC, only their context.

South Korean strikes are handled differently from company to company.
