I’m going to get roasted for this, but even knowing HR is an advocate for capital / management, part of their job is removing some of the shittiest parts of sharing a workspace with bigots and bullies. Even if it is just to lower their liability exposure.
To whit : a (less than genius) dude posted on (coupla companies ago) corp chat app some shit about trans athletes in grade school, and I replied “as a trans person this feels threatening,” and that shit was gone and I never heard from him again.
So they fired him without even giving him a warning? Sounds kinda excessive if you ask me. Like, sure, stuff like that doesn’t belong in the company chat app but losing your job over it seems a bit harsh.

Maybe it wasn’t the first time or maybe they were transferred to a position that was “invisible” to OP, you never know.
Well, that’s why I asked for clarification, didn’t I.
Bigots have no place in society. Its important to show this so they are finally ashamed of their opinion again.
Right, so you show them who’s the bigger person by being just as intolerant to them as they were to you…
Nah man there are certain things you don’t fuck with. For all we know they did give him a talking to and his response to that is what got him fired.
I’m afraid without any further explanation from the OP we really don’t know that.
