That poor baby is going to end up getting raised in secret in the basement or something… Why do these people have to make their kids suffer for this nonsense? Even if that kid has a quasi normal childhood, having no SSN means they won’t be able to do almost anything as an adult

Also, don’t they believe the government sets aside millions of dollars for every child born that the child supposedly would have access to? By their own logic, aren’t they just depriving their children of millions of dollars they would eventually be able to withdraw from using magic words?

If there were millions of dollars earmarked for me since birth, I assure you I would have found it and probably spent it by now lol

Yeah it’s clear they don’t realize how little $3m is in terms of lifetime funds, but also just how much $3m x 331,449,281 people is.

I think the lack of birth certificate is the bigger problem. There are in place processes for getting a social security number as an adult. I don’t know about birth certificates though.

If you’re trying to not exist in the eyes of the government, why use the systems that are in place by the government? Shouldn’t this person be hiding in a cargo hold to travel outside of the country? If you’re evading the government, you gotta go all in.

I’m sure this won’t cause any problems for the kid in the future, and that their relationship with the parents will be just fine.

Maybe I have never understood to the actual/literal meaning of run around.

Per the googles it means awkward or evasive responses. But a literal interpretation might mean “they kept telling us to talk to different people, research different issues, jump through hoops and then they move the goal post”.

I’d say either works, but both in combination for the ultimate runaround.
