  • His huge MAGA shift happened after his trans daughter disowned him. He thinks the school system did this to his kid and the woke people are suppressing the rights voice (AKA hate speech) on the matter.

I think there’s even a quote from an ex wife begging him to do something about it in the new book (don’t quote me on that, but im pretty sure)

So this seems like an absurd straw that broke the camels back, it’s actually coming from a real place even if there is a separate motive like taxes.

Edit: I tried to find the quote from the wife, and while there was a lot of quotes in articles, I could not find what I was thinking about. I did find some articles where the exwife shows support and is proud of their trans daughter for changing her name, so my conclusion is what I’m thinking about is probably something else not related to the daughter.

  • Crypto miners aren’t generally turning themselves off to just get the off peak rates. The hardware is expensive and only has a short lifespan before the next hardware that’s 5x better comes out rendering theirs obsolete as the hash rate spikes and they can’t make ends meet anymore.

Generally speaking, it does drive them towards cheaper electricity, which is often renewable or finding places that have excess and getting good rates on it.

Sometimes, that turns out to be dirty electricity like coal, and in some places its kept some coal plants alive and stopped others from being shut down.

But it doesn’t matter if they are 100% renewable because the people that hate crypto, don’t understand it at all, think it’s a scam with absolutely 0 use cases. So all those solar panels or windmills that they buy are resources being taken from other people and slowing down the adoption of renewables, because crypto is a waste.

  • All iOS apps on the app store need app approval. It’s the same for Googles app store, and I bet Samsungs and Amazon’s as well.

They test your app and make sure it functions and meets some basic guidelines.

The EU isn’t giving 3rd party stores carte blanche to break the rules, so yes apple has to approve it.

I imagine there’s probably some extra rules just for app stores, but if that’s the case (I don’t know) they’d need to be reasonable or they’d get in trouble.

I am curious though if apple can enforce rules on what apps go on the 3rd party store.

Edit: lots of edits for clarity, but also, apple appears to be being a dick in the process of approving this and abusing their position.
